51³Ō¹Ļapp to welcome Miākmaw Elder Albert Marshall, Jan. 16
Marshall to visit campus as part of the Universityās Year of Indigenous Action
SACKVILLE, NB ā Miākmaw Elder Albert Marshall will be at 51³Ō¹Ļapp as part of the Presidentās Speakers Series marking the Year of Indigenous Action on campus. Marshall will give a public talk on Tuesday, January 16 at 7 pm in Crabtree Auditorium. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Elder Albert Marshall is from the Moose Clan of the Mi'kmaw Nation. He is a fluent speaker of the Miākmaw language and the ādesignated voiceā for the Miākmaw Elders of Unamaāki (Cape Breton region) with respect to environmental issues.

Albert and his wife Murdena are strong advocates for āEtuaptmumk/ Two-Eyed Seeing,ā a phrase he coined for the gift of multiple perspectives. They encourage it be used as a guiding principle for the co-learning journey of different cultural knowledges working together.
